Safer roads in site for bikers

The Institute of Highway Incorporated Engineers has launched a website to advise engineers on designing roads with the safety of motorcyclists in mind.

The website, www.motorcycleguidelines.org.uk, explains how motorcycles need to be considered in policy, design and maintenance, parking and road safety.

Funded by the Department for Transport and IHIE, the website provides advice to highways engineers and traffic managers on how to engineer a safer transport environment for motorcycles, mopeds and scooters.
