Rutland bypass opens early

The three-mile Oakham bypass in Rutland has opened to traffic, two months ahead of schedule.
The bypass provides a link from the A6003 to the south of Oakham, via Burley Park Way, to the north of Barleythorpe, incorporating a new bridge over the railway.
It is single carriageway, with a combined cycleway/footway along its entire length.
