Royal backing for diploma

The new Construction and Built Environment Diploma has gained the full backing of the Royal Institution of Charted Surveyors (RICS).

RICS will recognise the diploma as a suitable qualification for entry on to its undergraduate courses, run at almost 50 universities across the country. Nick Evans, higher education policy manager at RICS, said: ‘We believe the C&BE Advanced Diploma is an important development.

‘Of course, it will be up to individual universities whether they choose to accept Advanced Diploma applicants, and also determine the lines of learning, but RICS believes it is a suitable qualification for entry to our accredited undergraduate courses.’
