Routing out a preference

The preferred route for the proposed £52M dualling of the A26 Frosses Road in Northern Ireland has been announced.

The route, between Glarryford and the A44 Drones Road junction, will be an on-line improvement of the existing single carriageway road to dual carriageway.

Five potential corridor options for the route were assessed against the Government’s five key objectives for transport- environment, safety, economy, accessibility and integration.

Regional development minister, Conor Murphy, said the dualling of the A26 Frosses Road would ‘improve road safety and reduce journey times’, as well as ‘enhance tourist links.’
