Road conditions ‘a priority’ for Essex County Council

More than £1.8M worth of residential highway schemes in Essex were completed in September. Essex County Council is targeting the condition of residential and estate roads and footways, with the condition of the road network a top priority.

Councillor Norman Hume, cabinet member for highways and transportation, said: ‘The recognition of Essex’s highways as among the best in the county is evidence of our continued investment in our network and our sustained efforts to improve the quality of life for our residents.

‘In addition to our pledge to deliver 12 congestion-busting schemes to the people of Essex this financial year, I am determined that we will also see improvements to roads in our local neighbourhoods, and I hope that residents will be able to see the benefits of this wherever they live.’
