Rising challenge for team

A Lincolnshire council has established a ‘High tides team’ to monitor local seas defences between the seaside resorts of Skegness and Mablethorpe.
East Lindsey District Council wants to protect the coastal towns from flooding during spring high tides, which are becoming a regular occurrence due to rising sea levels. Sea defences on the east coast have been much improved since the infamous 1953 floods, but recent February and March tides were of a similar level and tested the defences.
