The people of Sheffield have voted for the traffic hotspot most in need of improvement.
The council received 617 nominations for traffic hotspots across the city from members of the public. After 20 potential schemes were shortlisted, the public then voted for the one they wanted to see implemented. A road safety scheme at Bradfield Road received more than 350 of the 1,300 votes.
The entrance to Bradfield Road had been reduced from two lanes to one lane from the roundabout. This was causing significant tailbacks and cars to queue for long periods of time. Work will now start to reinstate two lanes for traffic to use at the roundabout from Owlerton Green.
The council will work through the list of 20 schemes, starting with Bradfield Road next month.
