Repair ‘vigilante’ slated

Kirklees Council has condemned the actions of a man who took matters into his own hands after becoming frustrated by the conditions of the road he lived on.
Brian Hollingworth, who called himself the ‘Yellow Pimpernel’ after his actions, sprayed yellow paint on the pavement to mark all the trouble spots on Birkby Hall Road in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. However, the council is claiming that works were already being planned for the site when Hollingworth sprayed the road, and that it was not assumed official workmen marked the areas.
