Remodel for recycling site

Bedfordshire County Council has closed its Barkers Lane household waste-recycling centre temporarily, in order to carry out major improvements.
The improvements will include increasing the size of the site, improving the layout and lighting, and installing state-of-the-art equipment to make it easier to access recycling containers. The site will reopen early next year.
Tom Wootton, cabinet member for waste, said: ‘The improved recycling centre will provide residents with a superb new service.’
