Relaxed during the evening

Coventry City Council has launched a pilot scheme to relax some on-street waiting restrictions in the city centre to provide more parking spaces in the evening.

The scheme will allow for parking from 7pm to 7am in specific streets and, if successful, could be extended to other parts of the city.

Cllr Hazel Noonan said: ‘These roads have been identified as roads which have the necessary spare capacity in the evening to allow a relaxation of parking regulations. The suggested timing of the relaxations are to ensure that bus routes are protected. ‘This is a pilot scheme, which will be carefully monitored to see if it can be extended to other parts of the city centre.’
