Reflexite wins court case over property rights

The inventor of mico-prismatic retro reflective materials for the traffic control market, Reflexite, has won a court case against an unnamed third party for infringement of its intellectual property rights.

It warned the traffic control industry to be on its guard against the rising tide of inferior materials hitting the UK market.

‘We are very satisfied with the outcome of this case. Not only does the settlement help secure our intellectual property rights in future, but it also enables us to warn customers against using inferior materials to ensure their quality requirements are met,’ said Gary Hartfieled, Reflexite European managing director.

Reflexite successfully sued the company for wrongful use of its trademark after the supplier’s traffic cones were found to contain reflective sheeting featuring unauthorised copies of the Reflexite logo.
