Red line marks bus-only stopping near to London’s Victoria station

A new wide red line road marking outside one of London’s busiest railway stations has been introduced in an effort to keep traffic flows steady by permitting only buses to stop in certain areas.
Transport for London hopes that the new red road marking on Wilton Road, next to Victoria Station, will make the area off-limits to taxis and other vehicles, keeping it free for buses to access their stops, and making it safer for passengers and pedestrians.
Taxi drivers often use Wilton Road to drop off passengers. The general exemptions for Blue Badge (disabled parking permit) holders will also not apply. However, there is still space for drivers to stop nearby.
The new road marking is also expected to appear at King’s Cross St Pancras and Liverpool Street within a few months. TfL’s traffic enforcement department will enforce the new restriction using CCTV cameras.
