Railway reopening lined up

 
Leicester City Council has launched a campaign to reopen a historic railway line to passengers as an alternative to road charging.
Reopening the Leicester to Burton line would cost at least £15M, but council leader, Roger Blackmore, said the move would make a significant impact on reducing congestion.
‘As the debate on congestion charges gathers pace, it seems glaringly obvious to open up an existing railway line to passenger trains,’ he said.
