Politicians unite to raise profile of highways in Westminster

A new, all-party parliamentary group has been set up to raise the profile of highway maintenance on the political agenda.

Former transport minister Christopher Chose MP will chair the group, which will include current members of the transport committee, as well as other former ministers.

Mr Chose said: ‘Our highways are one of our greatest national assets and this should be reflected in any government priority to ensure that these assets are maintained and improved. The group has been formed to raise the profile of these issues in Parliament.’

The Asphalt Industry Alliance will provide administrative support to the group.
