Planners approve Bath installations

Plans for a new bus rapid-transit route and the expansion of a park-and-ride site in Bath have been approved.

Bath and North East Somerset Council’s development control committee approved the remaining planning application to the Bath Transportation Package, in line with planning officer recommendations. The application relates to the expansion of Newbridge park and ride, including construction of a BRT route.

Cllr Charles Gerrish, cabinet member for customer services, said: ‘Additional park-and-ride capacity and the dedicated rapid-transit route will help make a difference in creating a Bath city centre where pedestrians and cyclists have priority and where public transport is free to move.’

Applications for expansion of Odd Down park and ride and expansion of Lansdown park and ride were approved on 20 May.
