Paying price for Golf gaff

 
National Grid has agreed to pay for Warwickshire County Council to restore footway water proofing and maintenance, after it dug up the pavement two weeks after works were completed.

The work involved water proofing and tidying up of a footway in Golf Lane in Whitnash. A fortnight later, National Grid dug it up again to maintain its gas mains.

The county council said National Grid failed to meet the requirement for prenotification of street works in this case.

‘The firm has acknowledged its error and has agreed to pay for all of the work to be redone,’ said a spokesman
