Pay strike to hit bus service

Nearly half of Metrobus drivers are planning to strike on Friday in protest at pay.

Services on behalf of TfL in South and South-east London together with provincial services in Sussex, Surrey and Kent will be affected as members of the union Unite strike from 3am for 24 hours.

Alan Eatwell, managing director of Metrobus, said: ‘We are sad our pay talks have come to this, particularly as we have proposed a 4% no strings pay increase which we consider to be a good offer in the present economic climate.’
