Patronage steps up a gear

 

Bus and tram patronage numbers in South Yorkshire have dramatically increased since the introduction of the concessionary fares scheme in April.

In the first quarter, patronage rose from 2,131,196 in 2005 to 2,510,701 this year – an increase of 18%. For the second quarter, it jumped from 2,118,936 to 2,552,018, an increase of 20%, and in the third quarter, it leapt from 2,026,314 to 2,556,431, an increase of 26%.
