Partnership reveals 24% fall in Northamptonshire deaths

Northamptonshire saw a 24% reduction in fatal road casualties last year, compared with the previous year.

The latest figures from the Northamptonshire casualty reduction partnership also shows a 42% reduction in the overall number of killed or seriously injured (KIS) casualties since the baseline period of 1992 to 1998, although this figure is 2% higher than 2006.

Cllr Liz Tavener, cabinet member for community safety, said: ‘These figures demonstrate a lot of good work being carried out by the partnership in reducing the number of collisions on county roads.’
