Park and ride sites named for Manchester Metrolink

Plans to create two large park-and-ride sites on the new Manchester Metrolink line to Oldham to Rochdale have been announced.

Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Authority will build the car parks at Hollinwood and Derker Metrolink stops, as part of a £575M expansion of the network, which was announced earlier this year.

Mpact-Thales has been appointed to build the new lines to Oldham and Rochdale, Droylsden in Tameside and Chorlton in south Manchester. Construction work is to start early next year.
