Overnight bridge demolition allows access for bypass project

A disused farm access bridge over the A46 in Warwickshire was recently demolished to allow for new road alignment as part of the M40 Junction 15 bypass project.

The work was carried out during an overnight possession by nine demolition rigs with assorted attachments for breaking, cutting and crushing, as well as four dumper trucks.

Managed by Morrision Construction – part of the Galliford Try group – the overall £60M project will provide a dual two-lane bypass and bridge over the motorway to allow traffic on the A46 from Stratford-upon-Avon to Coventry to bypass Junction 15, and also includes significant improvements to the roundabout and sliproads of the junction.
