Operators lined up for guided busway

Cambridgeshire CC has revealed that bus operators have been selected and registered for its guided busway service, which is set to launch in November.

All necessary construction certificates will be in place by the opening, and Stagecoach and Whippet Coaches will operate the route.

Contractor BAM Nuttall is confident the northern section of the busway – which runs from St Ives to Cambridge – will be passed over by the end of this month to allow time for testing.

Roy Pegram, the council’s cabinet member for infrastructure, said: ‘Recent news that the improvements to the A14 have once again been pushed back means the busway opening is more important than ever.’ No opening date has been set for the southern section of the busway.
