No stopping bus progress

Transport for London has rolled out audio-visual ‘next stop’ announcements on all of the capital’s buses.

TfL believes its new iBus technology will help London’s 8,000 buses deliver a more reliable and consistent service to the city’s 6.4M daily passengers.

The system uses a combination of technologies, including satellite tracking and GPRS data transfer to pinpoint the precise location of London’s fleet of buses.

It provides real-time audio-visual journey information for passengers, as well as more accurate predictions of arrival times at bus stop countdown signs.
