More than half of East Dumbartonshire’s £14M capital spending package for 2009/2010 will be invested In improving the council’s road network.


Deputy Council leader, Billy Hendry, said: ‘Despite a challenging year financially, we will be investing a further £7.3M next year in the road network across East Dunbartonshire.’


The package includes £2.55M for the Kirkintilloch link road and the Southbank access road. ‘This programme allows us to tackle the backlog of road improvement works and address the concerns of our residents about the condition of our roads,’ he added.
