The Society of Operations Engineers (SOE) has appointed Ian Chisholm as its new managing director.
Since joining as an engineering executive in 2001, Mr Chisholm has overseen significant developments in a range of activities including SOE’s membership recruitment and retention, marketing and communications.
'I am passionate about ensuring all three of the Society’s Professional Sectors – the Institute of Road Transport Engineers, the Institution of Plant Engineers, and the Bureau of Engineer Surveyors – are considered the leading voice of their respective industries, which are the backbone of a growing and evolving economy,' Mr Chisholm said.
'With a talented team at the society’s London-based headquarters, I will explore new funding and innovative revenue streams that will guarantee the sustainability of the organisation,' he said.
Operating throughout the UK and worldwide, SOE promotes, support, regulate and professionalise operations engineering and the people who work in it. Through its Professional Sectors – the Institute of Road Transport, the Institution of Plant Engineers and the Bureau of Engineer Surveyors - SOE directly influences the road transport, plant and engineer surveying sectors, spearheading best practice and compliance.
