New in-site into roadworks

A new website allowing the public to see the location of current and future roadworks across Scotland has been launched by the Scottish roadworks commissioner.

The website (www.roadworksscotland.org), allows the public to access maps which show the position of roadworks across Scotland.

Roadworks commissioner, John Gooday, said: ‘This site will, at the click of a mouse, allow the public to find out what roadworks are being carried out anywhere in Scotland, how long they are planned to last, what their impact is likely to be, the organisation responsible for the works, and their contact details.’

The information used will come from the Scottish Road Works Register, an electronic database management system used to manage and co-ordinate roadworks.
