NI bypass one step nearer

A £33M Northern Ireland bypass is one step closer after the Roads Service published formal notices of its intention to make direction and vesting orders.

The orders stipulate the line of the road, and empower the Northern Ireland Executive to buy the necessary land. The public can still object to the proposals, which will see almost 6km of road built around the town of Magherafelt, including new roundabouts and a bridge over an existing road.
