NET closes to catch up

A one-day shutdown is planned for Nottingham’s tram service on Sunday 2 April for essential engineering works.

The entire Nottingham Express Transit system will close to allow repairs to a damaged overhead line and the removal of a footbridge by Network Rail. NET is using the opportunity to carry out track and points maintenance, and move a tram stop shelter to improve CCTV visibility.

The shutdown would help to maintain high levels of reliability, said engineering manager Clive Pennington.
