Minister’s floating on Ayr over roundabout

Scottish justice minister, ~Cathy Jamieson~ welcomed the start of a £3.5M project to improve traffic flows through a roundabout in Ayr at a ground-breaking ceremony last week. Jamieson said the scheme, to increase the capacity of Whitletts roundabout while installing traffic signals on its five ‘legs’, would ‘open up economic opportunities, bring benefits to the tourist industry in Ayrshire and increase access to both Prestwick Airport and ferry connections at Stranraer’. She also praised the ‘partnership working’ between scheme promoter Transport Scotland and agents ~South Ayrshire Council~. The scheme is expected to take around four months to deliver.
