Minister opens A9 junction

Scottish finance minister, John Swinney, has opened a £2.7m junction upgrade on the A9 north of Perth, as part of a programme to improve access to the Highlands.

The newly-opened Bankfoot junction will reduce congestion and improve road safety, Mr Swinney said. The improvement is also delivering road safety benefits by removing the need for right turns at the junction.

‘Together with the Carribridge scheme, which was completed earlier this year, this demonstrates our commitment to invest in the A9 on a continuing basis, leading to dualling the A9 between Perth and Inverness,’ Mr Swinney added.
