Millennium team earns an encore for Stirling effort

The team which provided the acclaimed Gateshead Millennium Bridge is behind a £4M crossing to take pedestrians across a railway station to a new 40-acre development in Stirling.
Councillors have granted listed building consent to the Gifford & Partners and Wilkinson Eyre Architects-designed bridge, spanning railway lines to the south of Stirling’s A-listed railway station, that would connect the £100M Forthside mixed-use development with the city centre.
Cllr Charles McKean, planning panel chair, said the structure would be ‘an additional attraction in our beautiful city’.
Masts of varying height would support the bridge deck, some 6m above ground level.
