Middlesbrough recycling’s on everyone’s lips

Middlesbrough Council has launched a new beverage carton recycling scheme in the town.

The scheme means that used cardboard cartons can now be recycled through special collection bins at Recycling Bring Sites in a number of commercial locations.

The scheme is operated in conjunction with Tetra Pak and the carton industry body ACE UK (Alliance for Beverage Cartons and the Environment). Cllr Pervaz Khan, executive member for streetscene services, said: ‘If the initial six-month trial is successful, we’d like to see the project rolled out further.’
