Proposals to widen the M1 near junction 21 will be discussed by Leicestershire’s ruling cabinet next week.
The Highways Agency has proposed to reduce congestion on the M1 by providing a new link between the motorway and the M69 at junction 21. Original proposals for widening the motorway through Leicestershire, unveiled last year, would have included a new flyover junction from the M69 to M1. But the council was concerned this would burden residents of Leicester Forest East and Thorpe Astley
