May Gurney in £20M deal to keep waterways on straight and narrow

 
May Gurney has signed a long-term framework contract with British Waterways for the maintenance and improvement of all of its 2,200-mile network of canals and rivers in England, Wales and Scotland.


The four-year, £20M contract, with a two-year extension option, will begin in April, and will include a range of maintenance and improvement activities covering between 80 and150 projects a year. This will include repairs to 200-year-old locks, bridges, tunnels, embankments and towpaths, and aqueducts.
