Maximising the benefits of the Incentive Fund

 

The Department for Transport (DFT) is increasingly focused on encouraging local authorities to adopt sound highways asset management practice.

The latest scheme is the introduction of the £578m Incentive Fund through which 10% of the DfT's overall capital maintenance funding for this parliament is allocated to highways authorities on the basis of their ability to 'demonstrate they are delivering value for money'.
