Marble-ous solution mooted for Arch crossings

Life will soon be easier for pedestrians at London’s Marble Arch gyratory as Transport for London prepares the tender documents for introducing new, at-grade crossings.
Work is planned to start in the summer on the scheme proposed by consultants Colin Buchanan to introduce crossings to provide a quicker, simpler way of crossing the road than the current subway system. TfL has produced detailed designs for the provision of crossing points around the gyratory.
A ‘longer-term proposal to improve the public realm’ that could result in removing the gyratory in favour of a simpler junction was also drawn up by Colin Buchanan.
