Authorities are being asked whether bus deregulation has worked, as part of a new parliamentary probe.
The Commons transport committee wants to find out why the long-term decline in bus use, predicted by its predecessor committee in 2002, has not come about.
The backbenchers hope to get to the bottom of why there are no quality contracts in place, and whether or not London is a sound model for the rest of the U.K.
Interested parties are invited to submit written evidence by Wednesday 24 May.
