Lone drivers targeted

 
West Sussex County Council is urging businesses to follow its example, and reduce road congestion and pollution at peak times.
New staff travel plans have been published on the council’s website showing the impact that a ‘stick and carrot’ approach has had on reducing commuting to work by car.
A survey released this week by the authority shows 39% of county hall staff now travel to work alone by car compared to 55% in 2000.
