Locals get a say on high street revamp

Residents in London’s Southall area are being given the chance to have their say on street improvement works in the area.

Ealing council has distributed 6,000 surveys to residents and businesses seeking ideas on how sections of Southall High Street and South Road can be improved.

The local authority has allocated Southall £1.9M as part of a £15M regeneration programme that will see extensive investment across the borough.

David Millican, the council’s cabinet member for regeneration and transport, said: ‘The council is breathing new life into the borough with a £15M investment in town centres.

‘In Southall, residents can expect a significant revamp of the Broadway and surrounding area, with work already under way in many places. This includes recent improvements at Pocket Park, and a car park study to identify potential parking spaces in Southall.’
