Local anti-gum campaigns win funding

Fifteen local authorities are to receive Government funding for campaigns against chewing gum litter.
The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs will pay for advertising in areas including Bristol, Leeds and Lewisham to underpin 'hard-line' enforcement. It urged other authorities to look at a best practice guide on how to make campaigns work produced by the chewing gum action group.
Fifty councils applied for the funding in total.
