Lister’s chimney link will gather stacks of praise

An environmental improvement scheme which will link a new public space with the award-winning Lister Park has been launched in Bradford.

The scheme is one of the first projects taking place in West Yorkshire as part of Yorkshire Forward and the White Rose Forest Infrastructure project, which is working to create a better environment for people to live and work.

Bradford City Council received £250,000 funding from Yorkshire Forward, £470,000 from private sector housing, £168,000 from Local Enterprise Growth Initiative, and £40,000 from Environmental Task Force to carry out the work.

The project will form a key connection between the public space planned at the base of the mill chimney and Lister Park. Work will involve improving the quality and environment of the street and houses on Victor Road to create a calm and leafy avenue.
