Lincolnshire agrees a southern route for cathedral city

County council highways chiefs have agreed the preferred route for Lincoln’s southern bypass this week.
Route 2C takes in the area south of the city of Lincoln, including the parishes of North and South Hykeham, Harmston, Haddington, Aubourn, Colby, Bracebridge Heath and Waddington.
The scheme has been an aspiration within the county for many years, and would, by linking the proposed Lincoln Eastern Bypass and A15 with the A46 Western Relief Road, form a complete ring around Lincoln.
William Webb, executive councillor for highways, said: ‘Route 2C is the most likely to be deliverable, both on technical and economic grounds, and currently the most likely to attract government funding.’
