'Lessons must be learned' from first round of devolution

 

Ministers must learn lessons from the first major round of devolution deals and produce a public framework of powers that councils can pick and choose from, as well as allowing local authorities more control over timetables, a senior MP has warned.

Chair of the Communities and Local Government Select Committee, Clive Betts, has told Transport Network that the devolution process should change by the end of the parliament, making devolution a natural default option for a range of powers.
