Results from the Legible London scheme, aimed at helping pedestrians move around the capital more easily, show a one-third decrease in the number of people feeling lost.
The west of London prototype has also seen a 16% time saving on pedestrian journeys around Bond Street, and a two-thirds increase in numbers of people knowing their location in a given area. And 62% of users surveyed said it would encourage them to walk more.

There are also plans to make the mapping available on mobile phones, City of Westminster director of transportation, Martin Low, said in London last week.
