Leeds Lands a new plaza

Leeds City Council has started refurbishment work on a busy pedestrianised city centre street.

The £1.3M scheme in Lands Lane is part of a wider project to revitalise the pedestrianised area of the city centre. The work intends to give the area a ‘plaza feel’, while making the most of the space available and granite seating will be installed.

Council leader, Andrew Carter, said: ‘Having high-quality public areas in the city centre is important to attract investors, employers, employees, residents, shoppers, visitors and tourists to the city, and encourage them to return.’
