Kirkcaldy’s islands of calm

 
Fife Council has installed four traffic islands to help manage traffic flow along the Kirkcaldy Esplanade.


The local authority said it acted on local residents’ growing concerns over the inappropriate use of the esplanade by some motorists.


Alice Soper, chair of Kirkcaldy area committee, expressed her delight with the new traffic-calming measures. The SwiftPave refuges are bolted on to the road surface – so they can be removed for the annual Links Market – and include TMP’s solalite-powered bollards.
