King’s Lynn roads revamp under way

The first phase of road-improvement works funded by the Community Infrastructure Fund (CIF) in King’s Lynn will began next week.

The works include four key sites on the main spine road through the town, with junctions all set for new traffic signals, new streetlighting, and improved pedestrian and cyclist crossing facilities. The new signals are also being designed to help bus passage and improve air quality by reducing emissions from queuing traffic.

Just east of the town centre, the signal-controlled crossing on Littleport Street is being rebuilt to provide similar improvements.

The group of schemes will take about five months in total to complete.

The improvements are part of a package of transport projects which secured £5.3m from the Government’s CIF.
