Cement and bitumen manufacturing specialists Instarmac Group plc have been ranked number one in the Midlands top performing 300 companies with a turnover of between £20m - £50m.
Sponsored by HSBC, Coventry University and the Institute for Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering, the annual Insider magazine rankings uses Experian IQ to measure each company’s turnover and pre-tax profit.
Using these two numbers, an average is taken and the top 300 are drawn in order from that list.
As well as turnover and pre-tax profit, the analysis also looked at profit margins, the amount of businesses exporting and the number of employees and found that not only have average profits and exports increased but also Midlands businesses have created 10,306 jobs over the past year.
Instarmac Group plc was established in 1977 and has built a reputation based on the research, development and production of innovative materials used in the highway maintenance, urban regeneration, tiling, commercial flooring and internal finishing sectors.
In 2017, Instarmac was also placed in The Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies for the eighth year.
It has also achieved a RoSPA Gold Award for the fifth year and received a FORS Silver Award as well as completed the transition to the new ISO accreditations.
