‘Illegal’ attendants sacked

Around 40 parking attendants at Hackney council have been sacked after it emerged they were working illegally in the UK.
Central Parking System, employer of the borough’s parking attendants, took action when it discovered a number of employees had provided false documentation.
‘Working in conjunction with the Home Office, appropriate action was taken which resulted in the dismissal of these employees at the end of 2006,’ a spokesman for CPS said. ‘At every stage, Home Office guidelines for the prevention of illegal working have been followed.’
