Historic move for Maryport

The historic centre of Maryport, Cumbria, is set to be revitalised in a £3.65M regeneration project.
The five-year programme, known as the Maryport Townscape Heritage Initiative, will use traditional techniques and materials to ensure the town’s historic character is maintained.
The scheme will deliver renovation of key derelict and empty properties within the town centre conservation area, and environmental enhancements, such as new paving and street furniture.
Allerdale Borough Council will invest £250,000 towards the scheme.
